Duratrax Evader ST (Electric)
=========================================
BODY
Losi XXT body fits, front dimples are slightly off but the rears are
dead on.
MF2 body fits pretty good
Duratrax CLEAR BODY DTXC6409
Proline Crowd Pleazer for the Losi XXX NT
MCcAllister
Race bodies (#184 Rattlesnake will fit)
To stop the tinny sound of the Duratrax bodies, duct tape the insides
of the truck sides, below the side windows.
=========================================
SERVO
Grease up the servo saver
The servo saver on the evader does not work all the time. A way to
solve servo breaking problems is to actually cut the servo saver spring
between a 1/4 and a half.
=========================================
SUSPENSION/HANDLING
To tighten up the sloppy susppension on your evader convert all the
ball cups to ball links and add a small rubber washer (DT 3 mm shock
seals) under the remaining cups. It tightend's up by a good 90%. No
more ball cups popping off.
Use AE front Silver spring and rear green springs
Use 30wt shock oil.
Put heat shrink on u-joints to cover dog bone pins
<< replace with Nitro MIP's is better >>
Part # DTXC8226 Front Knuckle Arm. Remove .060 from top of arms where
the ball pin go's through, put two .030 washers (Associated part# 4187)
under the steering arm this will raise the axle and lower the front of
ST for better turning. Adjust to one on top and one on bottom if needed
for your track.
Cut the foam batt spacer into two parts, put one back in the hole at
the rear of truck put batt in place the rest of the foam in front of
batt. ST jumps flatter and turns better (rotates in the corners better).

DIFF UPGRADES
Nitro Evader alloy idler gear (DTXC8080)
B2/B3 diff gear (AE #9365)
B2/B3 diff rings (AE #9367)
B2/B3 carbide diff balls (AE #6581)
Stealth diff lube (AE #6591)
Black grease (AE #6588)
===
Get the T3/B3 Diff Rebuild Kit (#9351) it has the diff rings (#9367)
AND two thrust washers with six thrust balls.
Use the AE thrust washers and thrust balls to replace the stock ST-BX
thrust ball holder, thrust balls and washers, lube with the "Black
Grease".
=========================================
You can use the Nitro Evader (pic #7) CVD axle (the part the wheel
bolts to) put it together with the T4 (pic #6) CVD (the other half that
goes into the outdrive). MIP and Duratrax cvd's can be mixed.
If you have the evader pro or if you just have the aluminum rear plate
from a pro evader you use the Losi XXX-CR rear pivot block (with small
modification) and the Losi XXXT rear arms with Losi XX or XXT rear
hubs. The Losi rear hubs uses the 3/16x3/8 bearing. Then you can use
the Losi Dogbones. This is done because the Evader pro rear pivots
breaks easily.
Here is what you need for the Losi CR rear pivot. Look at the pic (pic
#1, #2, #3 and #4) on the top cut the brace out at the white lines the
hinge pin brace is installed on this end so it doesn't hurt cutting
this out, on the bottom where the yellow line is it needs some of this
material removed so it will clear the rear mount of the trans I used a
file. Then you will need to use the Losi rear arms because the hinge
pins are 1/8" on the losi the evader is 3mm which is a little smaller
so it will be sloppy if you use the evader hinge pins. Then you need
Losi rear hubs for one reason the 1/8" pins and the other you have a
hub with 3/16x3/8 bearing. This will then allow you to use the Losi
dogbone axles or CVD's.
Having a problem with trans coming loose so you solved this by
installing thread inserts in all of the bolt holes in the trans case.
The pic (pic #5) with the axles in the hubs, the top one is Losi the
bottom is evader, just to show how similar. After this mod and the
B2/B3 diff mod with the Losi Heavy Duty Thrust bearing the truck has
been great at least for stock racing anyway.

ANTI-SQUAT
On a slick track getting this truck hooked up can was tricky. You may
needed more anti-squat. Placed 3mm of lexan between the shock tower and
the motor brace (pic #8). This may do trick to get back end planted.
=========================================
IF your having a problem keeping a slipper setting. Put a second nut
on, after you have the slipper set. You will need to hold the first nut
as you tighten the second nut against the first nut.
=========================================
AE B4/T4 SLIPPER.
Remove the slipper setup from truck keep parts in order so you can
reassemble.
The inner slipper plate remove the lip that holds the slipper pad in
place.
Get 1 set of AE B4/T4 slipper pads AE#9603 (they come two in a pack).
Get a AE#9654 87t spur (IF that is the size you use)(AE only offers 81,
84 and 87 tooth spurs)
You will need to enlarge the center hole a bit, like .010, as the
evader shaft is larger than a AE shaft.
1. Put inner slipper on truck
2. Then a slipper pad
3. Then spur gear making sure slipper pad is in its placement on gear
4. Second slipper pad
5. Outer slipper plate
6. The rest of the washers/spring/nut in the order you removed them
7. Adjust slipper nut as needed.
